NHS Leeds has been a client of ImageCo for a number of years. We have worked with them on numerous projects and have provided them with a full service of design, print install and project management during this time.
They contacted us to help brand and brighten up the interiors of the newly developed advanced imaging centre at the LGI. With little more than schemes / architects and a few staff ideas we were given a free reign to come up with concepts and imagery for various areas of the ward.
The preferred image for the MRI ward was Yorkshire themed in particular a viaduct image. We set about finding images of famous Yorkshire viaducts online but soon realised the images were not high enough quality to produce at 13 metres x 2.5 metres. Our director Nathan decided to head out with his Nikon d800 SLR and take our own images. First stop was Arthington Viaduct at 5:00am for sunrise. The images he got weren’t to his satisfaction so having seen the weather was good the following day he set off at 4:00am to Ribble Head Viaduct. The conditions were perfect and he got the images we needed. Using 3 giant raw files stitched together in Photoshop we we were able to produce a giant wall graphic at a quality high enough to be viewed at close distance.
The huge graphic was printed on our HP Latex on a supertack vinyl and installed just in time for the machine to be turned on.
Our designer Becca was given the task of coming up with colour schemes and concepts based on the chosen colours for the interior. She produced mood boards of ideas to present to them based on colours found in the historic building there. Both Becca and our project manager Josh the liaised the NHS through out the project until the final designs were chosen. The outcome was successful and the client very happy.
Various print methods and techniques were used on the project including:
- Reverse mounted photographic print mounted to 5mm acrylic with stud fixings.
- Self adhesive supertack vinyl with matt laminate wallpaper
- CAD cut vinyl signage applied to 5mm foamex
- Pull up display systems
- Optically clear window vinyls.
- Fret cut brushed dibond lettering fixed with relief studs.
