Our Greener Printing Technology Mission.
Over the past few years Imageco have reinvented the printing products and technology we use. We’re shifting our business model and operations toward a circular, low-carbon economy to do our bit for the environment. We turned to both HP and Efi as their wide format printers offered us greener printing methods.
HP Latex Technology has fundamentally changed the environmental profile of signage, decoration and textile printing. With an end-to-end approach, HP continues to set the standard for more sustainable large-format printing.
Recognised as one of the most sustainable companies in the world, we considered Latex It’s the prefect solution for us in terms of production, quality, applications and the environment.
HP Latex Technology
HP Latex printing carries a broad set of credentials. It addresses the full spectrum of health and environmental concerns from ink chemistry and indoor air quality.
From print production and display, to lifecycle considerations, Latex products earn recognition as environmentally preferred overall.
Water-based HP Latex Inks offer an attractive environmental profile to both Imageco and our customers. In addition to this they deliver outstanding image quality, consistency, and durability.
Reach new indoor spaces that solvent ink can’t, like healthcare, homes, bars and restaurants. Water-based HP Latex Ink prints are odourless. This means there’s no need for special ventilation. There are no hazard warning labels or HAPs, it’s nickel free and HP Latex Inks are UL ECOLOGO®, UL GREENGUARD GOLD Certified. Prints meet AgBB criteria and demonstrate compliance with the international wall covering industry standards.
Carbon offsetting against our CO2 emissions
Carbon ‘offsetting’ describes how an individual or business invests back in to the environment to counteract their unavoidable CO2 emissions. This can be done through the purchasing of carbon credits from carbon capture or carbon reduction projects – such as woodland creation. This means businesses can compensate for their emissions and meet their carbon reduction goals. A successful carbon offsetting program has many benefits:
- Increased staff and stakeholder engagement
- Improved customer loyalty
- An increased awareness within the business
- It helps differentiate a business from its competition!
Reduction of Greenhouse Gas
Although called ‘carbon offsetting’ the term actually refers to the reduction of any greenhouse gas, not only CO2. The greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulphur hexafluoride and ozone gases. It’s called carbon offsetting because all of the other gases are measured against carbon dioxide. This makes it easier to compare the impacts of different types of emissions reduction projects.
In 2016 Imageco had contributed to the planting of 39 trees! The planting of trees is the least we can do until a solution for a completely green vehicle is available to us, the time will come.
Our waste management facility Prism operate a no landfill policy , we have recycling bins and skips for acrylic, dibond and all paper / card products. Everything is taken away independently of our regular waste.
Efi Vutek GS3250lx Ultradrop Pro
At Imageco we understand fully how integration of workflows can eliminate over production. Our ethos is to use less energy and maximise material usage. Generating cost-effective business practices and improve our green credentials.
Improved colour accuracy and repeatability are also key contributors to optimising processes which encourage more eco awareness by removing waste and reducing reprints.
Investment into our Efi VutekGS3250LX Ultradrop Pro and Zund G3 Cutter has meant increased productivity and significant reduced waste.
By implementing software to the Zund we have increased our ability to nest work effectively. This reduces media consumption and allows us to line up more work ready for output.
Our “greener” materials.
Many high street brands and supermarkets are now growing ever concious about their contributions to the environment and that filters down to their suppliers such as us. There are many greener print materials available such as PVC free products, FSC approved wallpapers, digitally printable FCS approved wood, 100% recycled acrylic.
With such demand in greener solutions for many of the big brands we have to be in keeping with them and offer solutions that reflect their green credentials. Contact us for sample on our greener medias.
