National Science and Media Museum

In Pursuit of Perfection

OVERVIEW

At the start, photography was incredibly difficult. Enthusiasts and professionals alike banded together into clubs, to share their passion, tips and equipment.

The Yorkshire Photography Union Competition celebrates this and displays the talent on offer on our doorstep. Held for the first time at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford. We were drafted in as the official print partner of the museum, and so we set to work to give this competition the backdrop it deserves.

Setting the Scene

Imageco were chosen as print partners to produce the graphic elements to accompany the competition entries in Gallery 1. To do this, we worked closely with Heather Jabubiak, the project delivery co-ordinator (exhibitions) to produce and install;

• Eco canvas wallcoverings
• PVC free kiss cut vinyl lettering
• Zund cut raised letters from recycled PVC Foamex
• Information panels printed on recycled PVC Foamex
• Interactive panels printed on recycled PVC Foamex.

Turning Yorkshire Green

Our green credentials are unmatched, and by choosing to work with Imageco, the museum was getting more than stunning print artwork completed to perfection, but they were contributing to a sustainable environment with PVC free products and recycled plastic wallcoverings.

This project saw us print, and install, over 65m/2 of eco canvas wallpaper, which equates to 6 trees being planted in the Yorkshire Dales – courtesy of our tree planting charity Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.

The project was managed by David Shackleton, supplied artwork was set up for print by Jamie McBride and Cadyn Adams in our studio, and installed by our very own Paul Moore.
