Revitalising Retail Displays

This wellness-first store’s intent was to feel radically different from previous stores, offering an immersive experience for shoppers, with the inclusion of health checks, fitness classes and even expert testing for your biological age. Led by H&B and Syn’s collaborative vision, the space was intended to feel warm, comforting, and emotionally engaging, delivering a holistic approach to health and wellness.

As part of the ambition to create a welcoming environment, the team at Imageco were brought in to develop vibrant, tactile, and people-focused print displays to give the store a homely feel. One element of this was the creation of a unit showcasing photo frames with lifestyle images. These frames were of varying shape and size and were uniquely made double-sided so that the imagery was visible from both inside and outside the store. The frames were sprayed to the specified RAL colour, and aluminium feet’s and supports were developed to fit the frames back to back. The frames were accompanied by two digital screens that would have rotating displays. The prints within the frame were all printed on FSC® paper on our HP Latex 800W for incredible photographic definition. Not only this, this printer only uses water-based inks so no toxic solvents were involved.

The concept of the unit design was developed by Syn and our team’s job was to convert their visual into a live build. To do this, we applied CAD to develop 3D models of the unit, which included intricate details surrounding how the components of the structure could slot together and how functional elements such as cable slots could be manufactured into the unit. Each component would then be cut out on our CNC cutter. The main unit on which the frames and screens sat was built from MDF clad and Eggar Oak veneer, to ensure durability in this high footfall environment. In terms of assembly, access to the window where the unit would sit was difficult, so we had to design the unit in sections using CAD and assemble on site. The cables for the screens had to be channelled through a specially designed central point, flowing from the base and out the bottom so that they were never visible to shoppers.

From concept to installation, this project was delivered in just six weeks, and our element was delivered with ease, aligning with the relaxing vibes of the store. Our unit remains in the Queens Street store as part of the stores successful launch.
